Mr. Ajita De Costa is the Managing Director of the Maxim Group of Companies and founding member of the Sri Lanka Apparel Exporters Association. He is a Trustee and founding member of the Sunera Foundation, an organisation that promotes the cultural rehabilitation of displaced persons. Mr. De Costa served as Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority from Feb 2002 to Apr 2004 and Chaired the Task Force for the Colombo Megapolis 2030 Master Plan. He is also the Chairman of the Heritage Foundation for the Environment & Arts.
Mr. Hanif Yusoof is the Managing Director of Expolanka Freight Ltd and also serves as a Main Board Director of the Expolanka Group. Due to the success of Expolanka, Mr Yusoof’s has been invited to serve on many national boards and panels, advising on policy initiatives in the Shipping and Airline industry. He was unanimously elected as President of the Freight Forwarders Association of Sri Lanka and served for two consecutive years (1991 to 1993). He was also in the UN/ESCAP panel of trainers for freight forwarding. As a result to his contribution to the industry and to the national economy he was honoured with the Outstanding Young Persons Award for the year 1998. An active social worker, Mr. Yusoof has been a Past District President of the Leos (306 B) and Past president of the Lions Club of Colombo North.
Dr. Durumila Kumara is a Doctor of medicine and has long supported social causes. Previously based in Australia, Dr. Kumara has worked extensively with disabled children and served as Senior Medical Officer in charge of Western Sydney Disability Services. She was instrumental in the foundation of the Sri Lankan Airlines (then Air Lanka) medical centre in Colombo in 1979. Dr. Kumara retired to Sri Lanka and to date, continues to work in a voluntary capacity at the Chitra Lane School for Disabled Children.
Mr. Michael Sproule (Attorney-at-law, Barrister-Inner Temple) is a senior partner at DL & F De Saram, an established and highly respected law firm in Sri Lanka. He has over 35 years of experience in Sri Lanka’s legal system and has served as a partner of the firm since 1983. Mr. Sproule has served on the Board of Richard Peiris Ltd, a leading manufacturing conglomerate in Sri Lanka and continues to serve on the boards of several reputed corporations in the island.
